Regular Roles Volunteering

Helpline Support Volunteer

Days: Monday -Friday

Times: Minimum 2hrs per shift (within core hours 10-4)

Regularity: Once a week

Length: 12 months

Juno provides a free 24 hr helpline service, drop in, email and live chat services for domestic and sexual abuse. It is the ‘front door’ for all domestic abuse and sexual violence services in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. The team provide a vital immediate response service for survivors at the point of crisis or change.

The helpline Support Volunteer allows for more capacity within a busy team, enabling more calls to be answered and the team to engage in training and reflection.

Hub Admin Volunteer

Days: Monday -Friday

Times: Minimum 4hrs per shift (within core hours 9-5)

Regularity: Once or twice a week

Length: 12 months

To provide support to the Hub Admin Team. 

The Hub Admin Team receive and process all referrals into Juno and allocate to different services. They are the starting point of any survivor’s journey with Juno.

The Hub Admin Volunteer allows for more capacity in a busy team, enabling survivors to get their support service quicker and reducing the risk to survivors.

Refuge Activities Volunteer

Days: Thursday -Friday

Times: 2-3hrs per session (within core hours 1-8pm)

Regularity: Once a month

Length: 12 months

The refuge staff work tirelessly to provide immediate accommodation and support to keep women and their children safe.

This role provides support to the Refuge Accommodation Team in the City by organising and running activities for women and children in refuge e.g. organising a movie night, playing bingo, board games, craft activities or cooking to share.

Safer Accommodation Volunteer

Days: Monday -Friday

Times: Minimum 4hrs per shift (within core hours 9-5)

Regularity: Once a week

Length: 12 months

To provide support to the Safer Accommodation Team. This service is based at Housing Aid to co-work cases where someone presents as homeless as a result of domestic abuse.

The team work to provide support to the survivor during the housing assessment, completing risk assessments, safety planning and advocating

Family Court Service Support Volunteer

Days: Monday -Friday

Times: Minimum 4hrs per shift (within core hours 9-5)

Regularity: Once a week

Length: 12 months

The aim of this service is to support female survivors and Children and Young People (CYP) who are accessing family court proceedings.

The volunteer role will support the capacity of the team to manage waiting lists. They will enable additional support to be provided to survivors by checking in with those waiting and reviewing their needs. 

Survivor Advocacy & Support Service Volunteer (City)

Days: Monday -Friday

Times: Minimum 4hrs per shift (within core hours 9-5)

Regularity: Once a week (minimum)

Length: 12 months

The aim of this service is to support female survivors who are living with or who have left an abusive partner through tailored 1-1 support.

The SASS Support Volunteer allows for more capacity within a very busy team. They will enable additional support to be provided to survivors waiting for service.

Survivor Advocacy & Support Service Volunteer (County)

Days: Monday -Friday

Times: Minimum 4hrs per shift (within core hours 9-5)

Regularity: Once a week (minimum)

Length: 12 months

The aim of this service is to support female survivors who are living with or who have left an abusive partner through tailored 1-1 support.

The SASS Support volunteer allows for more capacity within a very busy team with a main focus on manage waiting lists. They will enable additional support to be provided to survivors by checking in with those waiting and reviewing their needs. 

Social Media Volunteer

Days: Monday -Friday

Times: Minimum 4hrs per shift (within core hours 10-5)

Regularity: Once a week

Length: 9-12 months

The aim of the Marketing and Communication Role is to manage all internal and external communications.

This volunteer role will enable Juno to create more content across all communication channels, in particular building a social media presence. The role allows for more team capacity, enabling more survivors, supporters and communities to be reached across all platforms.

Children & Teens Service Volunteer

Days: Monday -Friday

Times: Minimum 3hrs per shift (within core hours 9-5)

Regularity: Twice a week

Length: 12 months

To provide support to the Children and Teens Service team (CAT).

The aims of this service are to work with children and young people (CYP) who have experienced domestic abuse. They provide specialist, trauma-informed services to aid children and teenagers in their healing process.

The team run also number of group projects in schools and in the community: Stronger Families; Young Voices Project; Escape the trap and healthy relationships sessions.

The CAT volunteer allows for more capacity in a busy team, enabling more sessions to be organised and more support offered within group sessions.

Group Programme Support Volunteer

Days: Monday -Friday

Times: Minimum 4hrs per shift (within core hours 9-5)

Regularity: Once a week

Length: 12 months

To provide support to the City Survivor Advocacy Support Service (SASS)

The team offers 2 group work programs – The Freedom Program and Own My Life – 10-12 week programs to support women to regain ownership of their lives when they have been subjected to abuse or violence by a partner.

The Group work support volunteer will allow for more groups to be run, more survivors reached and more support offered within the sessions.

Event Admin
Volunteer

Days: Monday -Thursday

Times: Minimum 4hrs per shift (within core hours 9-5)

Regularity: Fortnightly

Length: 12 months

The aim of the Marketing and Communication Role is to manage all internal and external communications.

This volunteer role will enable Juno to attend more externals events which will increase the awareness of the organisation and the support that is available. It will also help us to provide internal events for staff to increase morale and support staff wellbeing. The role allows for more team capacity, enabling more survivors, supporters and communities to be reached.
