Safer Accommodation
THE RIGHT TO FEEL SAFE & GET SUPPORT
Specialist Support for Safe Accommodation
Juno’s Safer Accommodation Team works closely with City and County housing options services to provide specialist support for women who have experienced domestic abuse and are at risk of homelessness. Our team helps survivors explore safe accommodation options and navigate the often complex statutory housing system.
Support includes:
Risk management and personalised safety planning
Guidance and practical support through statutory homelessness assessments or other housing processes
Assistance to remain safely in current accommodation where possible, including through Occupation Orders or sanctuary schemes
Referrals to refuge or emergency accommodation when needed
Emotional support and advocacy throughout the housing process
Referrals to specialist services, including counselling, mental health support, and independent advocacy
Multi-agency advocacy with housing solutions, the police, DWP, and other statutory or community services
The Safer Accommodation Team ensures survivors are supported holistically, empowering them to make informed decisions about their safety and housing, while minimising disruption to their lives and wellbeing.
“I was able to flee the place that was unsafe for me and my child and I have felt so much better ever since speaking to women’s aid and receiving the support I have had.”
